Bible Game · Chapter 25

The Altar East of the Jordan

The two and a half tribes east of the Jordan built a great, tall altar by the river. Hearing of it, the western tribes cried “Rebellion! They mean to serve other gods,” and the whole assembly gathered at Shiloh to make war on them (22:12). Swords are about to be drawn. You stand there among the host. — This game does not ask whether the altar was right before God, or whether building it was wise. It settles only one thing: what should have been done before condemning an appearance as the worst.
